143A Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction M'dn

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Champagne Marengo trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got no run in the straight.

S. Foley, rider of Man Of The Sea trained by K.J. Condon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never handled the track.

143B Roscommon Claiming M'dn

The Stewards fined David Marnane, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Magical Link (USA), in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Magical Link (USA) in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (iv).

The Stewards enquired into an incident about one and a half furlongs from the finish involving Descendant (GB), ridden by S. Foley, placed third, Maricruz, ridden by R.P. Downey, placed fourth and Taylor Velvet, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed sixth, where it appeared that Maricruz was left short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Descendant (GB) had improved his placing over Maricruz by causing interference. They, therefore, reversed the placings of Descendant (GB) and Maricruz with the amended result to read; First - Innamorare, Second - Eadbhard, Third - Maricruz, Fourth - Descendant (GB). The Stewards considered the incident to be accidental in nature and took no further action.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Rock In Society trained by S. Donohoe, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lugged left during this race.

143C Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies H'cap

143E Connaughton Auctioneer's M'dn

The Stewards enquired into possible interference about one and a half furlongs from the finish and again at the one furlong pole involving Dream Focus, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed fifth, High Mounte, ridden by D. O'Brien, placed second, Lethal Power, ridden by S. Foley, placed first and Maunganui, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed third, where it appeared Lethal Power had drifted off the rails in the first incident and Maunganui had moved inwards onto the path of Dream Focus in the second incident. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.

S. Foley, rider of Lethal Power trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount shyed away from the stalls and the handlers about two furlongs from the finish.

143F Hydrotech H'cap

G.P. Halpin, rider of Jazz Lady trained by Thomas Cooper, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount refused to race when the gates opened.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Roses Queen trained by P.J.Prendergast, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was checked soon after the start and again about one and a half furlongs from the finish.

The Stewards requested a report from J. S. Bolger, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Dawn Hoofer, placed first, as compared with its recent run. Gerard Flynn, Authorised representative of J.S. Bolger reported that the change in riding tactics today whereby the filly was allowed to race prominent compared to her run at Sligo on the 22nd May where she was dropped in to switch off but never picked up the bridle was a contributing factor along with the good underfoot conditions this evening which she appreciated. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Stewards informed Thomas Cooper, trainer of Jazz Lady, that his charge could be liable to suspension if she were to repeat her reluctance to race from stalls in the future.

143G Roscommon Racecourse H'cap

R.P. Downey, rider of Poitin (GB), trained by Keith Henry Clarke, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost her action in the straight.
