The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

R.Walsh replaced B.J. Cooper on Rathlin (GB), trained by M.F.Morris (Race 2)(injured)
M.A.Enright replaced B.J. Cooper on Easter Hunt, trained by M.F.Morris (Race 4)(injured)
G.N.Fox replaced B.J. Cooper on Somethingwonderful, trained by Ms. Sandra Hughes (Race 6)(injured)
Sean Flanagan replaced J.L. Cullen on Misty Lady, trained by John Laurence Cullen (Race 6)(stewards permission)

131A #15 Admission Rated S'chase

M.P. Walsh, rider of Shanpallas trained by C.Byrnes, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered and was pulled up.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Indevan (GB), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have burst blood vessels.

131C Punchestown For Events H'cap S'chase

M.A. Enright, rider of Ivy Glen trained by Patrick Gerard Ryan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost his action.

131D Festival Dreams Begin In Ire M'dn H'dle

R.P. Treacy, rider of Cielador trained by Charles P. Keegan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled from three furlongs out and was pulled up.

131E Panoramic Restaurant (Mares) M'dn H'dle

The Stewards requested a report from Anthony John Black, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Havana Dancer, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge missed the break and appeared to loose interest when never getting into the race on her previous run at Fairyhouse. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

D.J. Mullins, rider of Turtle Power, trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran too free in the early part of the race.

131F Punchestown H'cap H'dle

The Stewards received a request from John Laurence Cullen, trainer of Misty Lady, to substitute himself, with Sean Flanagan, as he was unable to do the weight. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the request, in accordance with Regulation 3. However they were of the opinion that J.L.Cullen was in breach of Rule 198, having presented himself to be weighed out with 2 lbs overweight, which had not been declared and having considered his record, he was suspended for two race days.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the back straight involving Lean And Keen, ridden by P. Carberry, Rupert Lamb (GB), ridden by R. Walsh, Somethingwonderful, ridden by Ger Fox, and Seeyouallincoppers, ridden by J.W. Kennedy, where R. Walsh was unseated. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned in the presence of Gordon Elliott, trainer who accompanied J.W.Kennedy in the Stewards room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found the incident to be accidental, were unable to apportion blame and took no further action.

131G Punchestown.com INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed Miss S. O'Brien, rider of Kilclispeen, concerning her use of the whip in of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that she used the whip with excessive frequency and having considered her record, suspended her for one race day.

The Stewards interviewed Mr J.J. Codd, rider of Matchaway, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he used the whip with excessive frequency and having considered his record, suspended him for three race days.
