349B Goffs Punchestown Sale H'cap S'chase

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Sir Abbot, trained by Robert Tyner, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically abnormal post race.

B.J. Geraghty, rider of Sir Abbot, trained by Robert Tyner, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped the first fence very well but never travelled from thereon and was pulled up when tailed off.

The Stewards interviewed Ms K. Walsh, rider of Seabass, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Ms K. Walsh was in breach of R10(3)(e) by hitting her mount other than down the shoulder or on the hind quarters and consequently cautioned her having taken her good record into consideration.

349D Festival Hospitality 3-Y-O M'dn H'dle

B.J. Cooper, rider of Calin Des Ongrais (FR) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost his action at the back of the third last hurdle.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Calin Des Ongrais (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be slightly lame post race. The gelding was also found to have a respiratory tract infection on endoscopic examination post race.

The Stewards requested a report from P.A.Fahy, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Jazz Ranger, placed first, as compared with its recent run four days ago at Leopardstown when beaten 54 lengths. P.A. Fahy reported that his charge lost considerable ground at some of the hurdles at Leopardstown when jumping sharply to the left whereas today he reverted back to a right handed track where he had previously finished fourth and jumped better while being ridden more prominently and had the benefit of a seven pound riders allowance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

A. Ring, rider of Divine Rhapsody trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having gone lame in running.

349F Martinstown Opportunity H'cap H'dle

R.A. Doyle, rider of Famous Ballerina trained by J.A.Berry, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and was pulled up.

K.M. Smith, rider of The Church Gate trained by Matthew J. Smith, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly to the left during this race.

The Stewards interviewed D. Meyler, rider of Ice Cool (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D. Meyler was in breach of R10(3)(e) by hitting his mount other than down the shoulder or on the hind quarters and consequently suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his recent previous record into consideration.
