The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

J. S. Bolger, trainer of Mandatario (GB) (Off feed) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

K.J. Leonard rode Adieux (reserve) , trained by Patrick Martin (Race 8)
A.J. Farragher rode Blockstar Girl, trained by John James Feane (Race 4)(Stewards permission - see enquiry))

283B Legacy Stakes

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Brother Bear, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

G.F. Carroll, rider of Blue Uluru, trained by G.M.Lyons, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount emptied in the final furlong.

283C Waterford Testimonial Stakes

The Stewards interviewed K.K. Hennessy, rider of Maarek (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that K.K. Hennessy was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and therefore cautioned him having taken his good previous record into consideration.

283E Staffordstown Stud Stakes

The Stewards enquired into an incident about 200 yards from the finish involving Ballet Shoes, ridden by P.B. Beggy, placed third, Coeur D'amour, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed second and Solar Wave, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed sixth, where it appeared that Solar Wave ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.

283F New Troytown Bar Apprentice H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from John Patrick Shanahan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Warp Factor, winner, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his last run at Chester was over a distance in excess of his best and previously at Newbury he disappointed over a shorter trip. He referred to the gelding as having different ideas about running and having raced without blinkers in recent runs, they were reapplied today to sharpen him over the shorter distance of one mile and also to help the rider as this race did not allow for the carrying or use of whips. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

283G Irish Cesarewitch

R.P. Whelan, rider of Sea The Lion trained by Jarlath P.Fahey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Gustavus Vassa (GB) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran keen for one and a half miles until entering the straight.

The Stewards interviewed D.W. O'Connor, rider of Ted Veale, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D.W. O'Connor was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and therefore cautioned him having taken his good recent record into consideration.

283H Royal County H'cap

The Stewards interviewed James Feane, authorised representative for John James Feane, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Blockstar Girl. Evidence was heard from the trainer's representative who stated that it was an oversight on his trainer's part as it was always intended that A.J. Farragher would ride this filly. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that John James Feane was in breach of R(3) by failing to nominate a rider by the deadline fixed for such nominations and through his representative fined him €200 having taken his previous record into consideration. The Stewards allowed the request for A.J. Farragher to ride. Mr Edward Galvin, Acting Steward, did not attend this enquiry.

The Stewards enquired into an incident about two furlongs out involving Doonard Prince, ridden by K.J. Leonard, placed second and Free To Roam, ridden by C.T. Keane, unplaced, where it appeared that Doonard Prince was lying in against Free To Roam. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.

The Stewards enquired into an incident over one furlong out involving Mr Michael, ridden by O.J. Orr, placed fourth, A Likely Story, ridden by L.F. Roche, unplaced and Tidal's Baby (GB), ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed sixth, where it appeared that Mr Michael ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.

The Stewards enquired into an incident inside the last 150 yards involving Doonard Prince, ridden by K.J. Leonard, placed second and Tidal's Baby (GB), ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed sixth, where it appeared that Tidal's Baby received some interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.

The Stewards interviewed R.P. Cleary, rider of Landline, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that R.P. Cleary was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and therefore suspended him for 2 racedays having taken his recent record into consideration.
