O'Donoghue, placed first and Joe Eile, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed third, where it appeared that Bubbly Bellini checked inwards in running. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. 244C Emerald Facility Services Cleaning H'cap

The Stewards interviewed R.McGlinchey, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Mistress Marinrio. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that he was unsuccessful in securing the availability of any rider prior to the deadline for nominations despite the best efforts of four Jockeys Agents and assistance from the H.R.I Declarations department. He added that yesterday afternoon he secured the availability of M.C. Hussey in the knowledge that he may have to carry overweight. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the request for M.C. Hussey to ride Mistress Marinrio and accepted the trainers explanation.

244F Gormanlough H'cap

The Stewards received a report from W. Fleming, Clerk of the Scales, that subsequent to the card closing at 1.25 p.m., one hour before the time of the first race, he received a late presentation at 1.50 p.m. of a facsimile transmission from Charles Moore, trainer, timed at 10.58 a.m. declaring his charge Halarath, a reserve, a runner in this race. Having considered the report, the Stewards were satisfied that Charles Moore had made the declaration in compliance with Rule 194 (iii)(b) and using their powers under Rule194 (ix) allowed Halarath to be reinstated as the error was made by the racecourse office and was therefore completely out of the control of the trainer. The Stewards allowed the request for A.J. Breslin to ride Halarath.

The Stewards interviewed H.Rogers, trainer of Sea Bank (GB), in relation to the excuse of "no suitable rider" being offered for non running. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that he wanted a professional Jockey to ride his charge but failed to secure anybody following extensive efforts. He added that some professional riders were unavailable to day owing to commitments elsewhere or through suspension. He suggested that this animal would not be an easy ride for an inexperienced Apprentice Jockey and this left him with no alternative other than to withdraw his charge. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation and allowed the withdrawal of Sea Bank (GB) without penalty.

The Stewards fined Miss Ruth Louise Jones, trainer, €65 for failing to fit a tongue tie to Grandma Dotty, prior to entering the parade ring.
