The Stewards fined M.D. O'Callaghan, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Lorelei Rock, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Lorelei Rock in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.

The Stewards fined A.P.O'Brien, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Tango, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Tango in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Allhallowtide, ridden by S.P. Davis and Tinkerbells Effect, ridden by S.M. Crosse where it appeared that Tinkerbells Effect ran short of room on the rails. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned, in the presence of Mr. T.J. Comerford accompanying S.M. Crosse. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that any incident was accidental in nature and took no further action.

087B Committed Stakes

Under the provisions of Rule 90, the Stewards allowed Chestnut Express, trained by D.J. Bunyan, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the error identified in the certification of vaccinations would be corrected in accordance with Rule 91 within the timeframe specified.

087C Navan Welcomes Owners Apprentice H'cap

The Stewards fined Richard John O'Brien, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Maymine (GB), in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Maymine (GB) in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.

The Stewards interviewed B.M. Coen, rider of Verhoyen (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned in the presence of Mr. Charles Persse. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that B.M. Coen was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g), in that he used his whip with excessive frequency. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned B.M. Coen.

The Stewards interviewed S.M. Crosse, rider of Little Clarinet, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned in the presence of Mr. Charles Persse. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that S.M. Crosse was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g) in that he used his whip with excessive frequency. Having considered his record in this regard the Stewards cautioned S.M. Crosse on this occasion.

The Stewards interviewed J.P. Shinnick, rider of Handsome Maverick, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned in the presence of Mr. Ger Lyons. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that J.P. Shinnick was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g), in that he used his whip with excessive frequency. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned J.P. Shinnick on this occasion.

The Stewards informed R. K. Watson, trainer, that a repeat of Blue Suede's behaviour, who refused to race from stalls, would render her liable to future sanction.

The Stewards requested a report from Donal Kinsella, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Handsome Maverick, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Donal Kinsella stated that a shorter distance today in addition to a change of tactics from his previous run, whereby he ran wide on the outside on this occasion, aided his charge and brought about the improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

R.P. Whelan, rider of Isosceles trained by M.Halford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost its action up the straight.

The Stewards interviewed R.P. Cleary, rider of Red Gerry, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that R.P. Cleary was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g), in that he used his whip with excessive frequency. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned R.P. Cleary on this occasion.

087G Sequence Events Vintage Crop Stakes

Following a report from Ms. Joan Taylor, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, The Stewards interviewed Ms. Ellen Renwick, authorised representative of Iain Jardine, regarding a request to administer glycerine to Nakeeta prior to racing. Ms Renwick stated that she had followed normal procedure as per racing in England whereby the use of glycerine is permissible in accordance with British Horseracing Authority Regulations. Evidence was also heard from Ms Joan Taylor. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards did not allow the request to administer glycerine in accordance with Regulation 9.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Capri, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
