The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

S.E. Butler replaced P.D. Kennedy on Mokoro Man, trained by Lorcan Joseph Donnelly (Race 1)(Unwell)
S.W. Flanagan replaced M.J. Bolger on First Warning (GB), trained by E. McNamara (Race 3)(Flight delayed).

264A Troytown Bar M'dn H'dle

A.E. Lynch, rider of Sea Buckthorn trained by Vincent Laurence Halley, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise during this race.

264B Racing Again Wed 7th October H'cap H'dle

D.J. Mullins, rider of Who's That, trained by Liam P Cusack, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not handle the ground and jumped very high.

264C N.I. Childrens Hospice H'cap H'dle

B.T. O'Connell, rider of Barbalicious, trained by J.H. Culloty, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran into serious interference when leaving the back straight which was caused by general bunching and was of no fault of any individual rider.

The Stewards interviewed D.F. O'Regan, rider of Perrie Hill, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D.F. O'Regan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with his arm above shoulder height and consequently cautioned him having taken his clean previous record into consideration.

G.N. Fox, rider of De Danu's Bach, trained by V.C.Ward, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped out to the left at the last hurdle in the back straight and when straightening up was unable to hold her position because of congestion when meeting the running rail and ran out through the rail.

The Stewards acting under the terms of Rule 196 (v) fined M.J. Bolger, rider, €200 for failing to present himself at scales to be weighed out for his mount on First Warning (GB), trained by E. McNamara in this race. The Stewards allowed S.W. Flanagan to substitute for M.J. Bolger on First Warning (GB).

Gerard Stack, trainer of Stajovic, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Monday 28th September that his charge was found to be very lame post race.

264D Albany H'dle

The Stewards interviewed A.P. Heskin, rider of Sang Tiger (GER), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that A.P. Heskin was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and consequently suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his previous record into consideration. The Stewards were satisfied that A.P. Heskin had used the whip in the forehand position down the shoulder due to exceptional circumstances and accepted his explanation in this regard.

The Stewards received a report from Ms Inge D'Haese, Turf Club Veterinary Officer, in relation to an observation while carrying out a routine post race examination on the winner Casual Approach ridden by B.J. Cooper. Evidence was heard from Ms D'Haese and B.J. Cooper. Having considered the report and the riders response, the Stewards took no further action.

264F Meath Farm Machinery H'cap S'chase

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Elegant Statesman, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have swelling on the off foreleg.

264G Bective Restaurant(Pro-Am)INH Flat Race

John J Fitzpatrick, rider of May Down trained by J. Woods, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped soon after the start.

The Stewards interviewed Mr P.J. Cawley, rider of Messie, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr P.J. Cawley was in breach of R10(3)(b) by the continued hitting of a horse after it's chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone and consequently suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his recent record into consideration. Furthermore the Stewards advised Mr P.J. Cawley concerning his responsibility to report at first instance anything that may have affected his mounts performance.

The Stewards interviewed Mr J.P. Dowling, rider of Zagress, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr J.P. Dowling was in breach of R10(3)(b) by the continued hitting of his mount after his chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone and consequently cautioned him having taken his clean previous record into consideration.
