The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J.W. Kennedy replaced M.A. Enright on Oscar Lantern, trained by C.Byrnes (Race 5)(Unwell)

B.J. Geraghty, rider of School Boy Hours trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran very green throughout.

C.D. Maxwell, rider of Ashbourne Allstar trained by Patrick Rooney, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right throughout.

Miss Elizabeth Doyle, trainer of Deise Treasure, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her charge burst.

A.E. Lynch, rider of Dynamic Allen (FR), trained by B. R. Hamilton, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not travel down the back, stayed on in the straight and made a noise.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Deise Treasure, trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be have blood at the nose following exercised induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

The Stewards interviewed B.J. Cooper, rider of Monotype, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found B.J. Cooper in breach of Regulation 10.3 (e) in that he used his whip other than down the shoulder or the hind quarters. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards cautioned him.

D.N. Russell, rider of Mallowney trained by Timothy Doyle, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount emptied leaving the back straight.

370C Irish Race Writers Kingsfurze Novice Hdl

The Stewards interviewed D.E. Splaine, rider of Articulum, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found D.E Spaine in breach of Regulation 10.3(f) in that he used his whip with excessive frequency. Having considered his previous record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned him.

D.N. Russell, rider of Roaring Bull trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a mistake at the last in back straight.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Roaring Bull, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

P. Townend, rider of American Tom (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise.

The Stewards received a report from Mr. H.T. Hynes, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board, Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that S.W. Flanagan, rider of All The Chimneys, weighed in at 1.1 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that rider was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record, suspended him for 2 racedays.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Fairly Legal, trained by Robert Tyner, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

370G Come Racing April 7 (P/Am) INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed Mr D.T. Kelly, rider of Russian Soldier, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g) in that he had used his whip with his arm above shoulder height and Regulation 10.3(f) in that he had used his whip with excessive force. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended him for 1 raceday.
