The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Sors trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount charged the gates.

The Stewards enquired into two incidents in this race involving Lord Justice, ridden by D. O'Brien, unplaced, Monocle (GB), ridden by P.J. Smullen, unplaced , Power Struggle, ridden by F.M. Berry, unplaced and Murmuration, ridden by K.J. Manning, unplaced. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned,in the presence of Mr. Edward Harty, trainer, who accompanied D.O'Brien. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that both incidents were accidental and took no further action.

W.J. Lee, rider of Evening Hush trained by K.J. Condon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount reared up leaving the stalls.

Gary Paul Halpin, rider of Remarkable Lady trained by H.Rogers, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped in running.

The Stewards requested a report from David Peter Nagle, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Talented Kid (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge is difficult to train and has only been able to swim, making it difficult to get him fit. He added that the horse ran well the last day until weakening two furlongs out. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

289G Come Racing Again Sunday 8th Nov M'dn

The Stewards interviewed J.P. O'Brien, rider of Gran Paradiso, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he used the whip with excessive frequency and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days.
