The Stewards enquired into an incident at the third last hurdle involving Antey (GER), ridden by D.J. Mullins and The Holy One, ridden by R.M. Power. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.

Mr. Robert Dore, Chairman, absented himself from this enquiry and was replaced by Mr. Justice Tony Hunt.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Reine Fee, ridden by T. Ryan, and trained by Shane Crawley. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. T. Ryan stated that he was instructed to drop his mount in early and to give her a chance to get into a jumping rhythm over the first couple of hurdles, as she jumped a bit green in her recent run. T. Ryan explained that in running the pace was fast early on, his mount made a mistake over a hurdle which knocked her back a bit and it took her a while to get going again. Having turned for home, his mount passed tired horses which got her going forward again but she finished tired. Shane Crawley confirmed the instructions given to T. Ryan and added that his charge fell during the week while schooling, and therefore it was important to get her confidence back today. Shane Crawley stated that he was satisfied with the performance of his charge in this race, that T. Ryan could have ridden a bit more vigorously however this would not have improved her final placing. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Reine Fee was post race normal and that samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered, however they advised T. Ryan of the need to be seen to make a stronger effort in future.
