The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Eoin Doyle, trainer of Leavethelighton (Off Feed) - €200.

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

D. J. Casey replaced P. Townend on Wicklow Gold (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins (Race 4)(Injury).
Ms K Walsh replaced P. Townend on Cadspeed (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins (Race 5)(Injury).

049A St Patricks Day M'dn H'dle

B.T. O'Connell, rider of Badgerfort, trained by Philip Fenton, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was outpaced turning in and stayed on past beaten horses in the straight but would improve for a longer trip.

049B Navan Shamrock Festival M'dn H'dle

S.G. McDermott, rider of Newry City, trained by J.G.Cosgrave, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a respiratory noise in running.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Mystical Dreamer, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post-race normal.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Mystical Dreamer, ridden by R.P. McNally, and trained by Gordon Elliott. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. R.P. McNally, stated that his instructions were to drop-in and to get the horse settled and jumping. He stated that this is a free-running sort, he got him settled and he jumped ok, but he tired from the second last home. Gordon Elliott, confirmed the instructions but expressed himself dissatisfied with the ride. He stated that this horse had not schooled well over hurdles but he wasn't satisfied with the ride today. The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that the horse was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the trainer's evidence. They furthermore found that R.P. McNally was in breach of Rule 212(a) (i) by failing to ensure that the horse is given a full opportunity to win or of obtaining the best possible place and having taken his record in this regard into account the Stewards suspended him for seven race days and ordered him to forfeit his riding fee.

Mr Peter Law, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Zigger Zagger, trained by Noel Meade, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically normal.

049C Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice H'dle

The Stewards interviewed Mr J.J. King, rider of Thunder And Roses, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found Mr J.J. King in breach of Regulation 10 4. by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip and having taken his record into account suspended him for two race days.

J.L. Cullen, rider of Rightdownthemiddle, trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount cocked his jaw and ran out approaching the second last.

049D Kilberry H'cap H'dle

The Stewards received a report from Mr Ion Hamilton, Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr J.J. King, rider of Somethingwonderful, weighed in at 1.8 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had taken a drink after weighing out and this may have accounted for the overweight on weighing-in. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr J.J. King was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record in this regard they therefore suspended him for two race days.

049E Irish Stallion Farms EBF Nov. H'cap S'ch

B.T. O'Connell, rider of Authinger, trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount travelled well to the third last before emptying and he pulled up.

S.A. Shortall, rider of Milan Breeze, trained by Miss Amanda Mooney, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost his action from the fourth last and pulled up.

049F Corby Hoey Memorial H'cap S'chase

Andrew J.McNamara, rider of Refused A Name (GB), trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Refused A Name (GB), trained by John Joseph Hanlon, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

Peter Casey, trainer of Monelissio, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge didn't handle the going.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Refused A Name (GB), trained by John Joseph Hanlon, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

049G Navan Race Members (Pro-Am)INH Flat Race

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Brod Na hEireann, trained by D. T. Hughes, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Adrian Murray, trainer of Balthazar Bee, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Tuesday 18th March that his charge was found to have a heart condition following examination at home.
