The Stewards enquired into an incident near the three furlong marker involving Art Of Payroll (GER), ridden by B.J. Cooper, placed fourth and Mr Fiftyone, ridden by R.M. Power, placed second, where it appeared Art Of Payroll (GER) received interference when Mr Fiftyone made a manoeuvre to challenge. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that R.M. S.G. McDermott, rider of Ram Them All trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise in running.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Ram Them All, ridden by S.G. McDermott, and trained by P.A.Fahy. Evidence was heard from the trainer and rider concerned. P.A.Fahy, stated that this animal had run freely at Downpatrick and consequently he instructed S.G. McDermott to get his mount switched off today and to do his best to get him home. He added that it was not his intention to run this animal over a distance in excess of two miles but was left with little choice having been balloted recently. He informed the Stewards that this animal has an ongoing lung problem which has been treated under veterinary supervision and in his opinion he is a two mile horse who needs a sounder surface. In the circumstances he was satisfied with the ride. S.G. McDermott, confirmed the instructions and described the animal to have run very freely until settling after the stands but began to make a respiratory noise about seven furlongs out and was kept together until jumping to the right in the straight and failed to make any advance following a few slaps of the whip down the shoulder. The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that Ram Them All was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations.

R.J. Jones, rider of Royal Vic trained by C.Byrnes, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran away early on and emptied about six furlongs out.

The Stewards interviewed Mr R.J. Kiely, rider of Walter Skyfall concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr R.J. Kiely was in breach of R10(3)(b) by the continued use of the whip after his chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone and also R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency. They, therefore, suspended him for 2 racedays having taken his good previous record into consideration.
