The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Mythologic, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

The Stewards enquired into the riding in the closing stages of this race of Mythologic, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, and trained by A.P.O'Brien where Mythologic held sixth position inside the final furlong but surrendered this close in the latter stages to finish last of eight runners. Evidence was heard from J.A. Heffernan, rider, who stated that his mount had been in contention and under a forceful ride but had hung to the right during this race and had no more to offer in the closing stages. In his opinion he could not have finished any closer. Under further questioning he accepted that he had failed to report at first instance that his mount had hung to the right. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Mythologic was blowing hard post race. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the evidence of J.A. Heffernan in relation to his riding in the closing stages. They did, however, remind J.A. Heffernan of his responsibility to comply with Rule 213 whereby he shall report in the first instance anything which might have affected the running of his horse in a race.

The Stewards interviewed M.A. Gallagher, rider of Bellepower, concerning his use of the whip in the final two furlongs of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that M.A. Gallagher was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended M.A. Gallagher for 1 raceday.
