267A Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the latter stages of this race involving Machiavelli (GB), ridden by N.G. McCullagh, placed fifth, Night Of Power, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed fourth and Summer's Dream (GB), ridden by W.J. Lee, unplaced, where it appeared that Summer's Dream (GB) ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by D.P. McDonogh riding carelessly and consequently found him to be in breach of Rule 214. Having taken his previous record and mitigating factors into consideration the Stewards suspended D.P. McDonogh for 1 raceday. Mr Robert Hall, Acting Steward, did not attend this enquiry.

267B C.L. & M.F. Weld Park Stakes

The Stewards interviewed C. O'Donoghue, rider of Ellthea, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that C. O'Donoghue was in breach of R10(4) by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip. Having taken his previous record into consideration the Stewards suspended C. O'Donoghue for 1 raceday.

267D Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Race

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Apple Anni, trained by Mick Channon (in GB), at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

267E Renaissance Stakes

P.J. Smullen, rider of Mr Scarlet (GB) trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost his footing at halfway.

267F Joe McGrath H'cap

The Stewards fined Barry John Murphy, trainer, €350 for lodging a facsimile of the passport in respect of Spirit Quartz, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Stewards interviewed J.A. Heffernan, rider of Maarek (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that J.A. Heffernan was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and therefore suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his previous record into consideration. Mr Neville O'Byrne, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry and Mr Philip Myerscough acted as Chairman.

267H Hospitality At Naas Racecourse H'cap

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Dinkum Diamond trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount tried to run off the track during the early part of this race.
