R.P. Whelan, rider of Bootsandbars, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount may benefit from a step up in trip on softer ground.

Gary Paul Halpin, rider of Batchelors Walk, trained by M.Phelan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was outpaced before staying on in the closing stages.

R. Coakley, rider of Melvin The Grate, trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was ridden prominently but stopped quickly when headed.

A.P. Thornton, rider of Footprint, trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was held together to get the trip but flattened out in the closing stages.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Melvin The Grate, trained by J.P. Murtagh, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

128E George Fitzmaurice H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from T.G.McCourt, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Princess Tamay, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on her last run , having been boxed in on the rails she seemed to loose interest. He concluded by saying that the application of cheekpieces today, seemed to have the desired effect of rekindling her enthusiasm. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

128F Croom House Stud H'cap

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Taglietelle (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung left in the final five furlongs.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Taglietelle (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

128G Bryan MacMahon (QR) Race

The Stewards interviewed Mr F. Maguire, rider of Mm Dazzler, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f) and 10.4, in that he used the whip with excessive frequency, without giving his mount time to respond and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference from the turn into the straight involving Marchese Marconi, ridden by Miss S. O'Brien, placed second and Mm Dazzler, ridden by Mr F. Maguire, placed first. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judges placings and took no further action.
