The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Sabrina J. Harty, trainer of Edith Somerville (off feed) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

B.J. Geraghty replaced N.P. Madden on Winter Breeze, trained by Michael Winters (Race 8)(unwell).

258A Listowel Printing Works M'dn

P.J. Smullen, rider of Iffraja trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered turning into the straight.

D.P. Linehan, rider of Walled Garden trained by Edmond Daniel Linehan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slow to get into stride.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference rounding the final bend involving Knockmaole Boy, ridden by J.P. O'Brien, placed second and Time For Art, ridden by F.M. Berry, placed first, where it appeared interference had taken place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings. They did, however, find that F.M. Berry was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his very good record, the Stewards cautioned him.

258B John & Terry Moriarty Memorial H'cap

P.J. Smullen, rider of Avalanche (GB) trained by T.J. O'Mara, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slow away and the saddle slipped in running.

258C Bank Of Ireland Hcap

The Stewards requested a report from G.M.Lyons, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Third Dimension (GB), placed first, as compared with its most recent run at the Curragh on August 30th, when finishing 13th of 22 runners and was beaten by thirteen and a half lengths. Shane Lyons, trainers representative, reported that a more patient ride in what was he felt was a lesser race, had brought about the improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted its content.

258E Guinness H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Pyromaniac, ridden by F.M. Berry, placed second, Hudson's Bay, ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed fifth and Fact Or Folklore, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed first, where it appeared interference had taken place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that W.J. Lee was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days.

S. Foley, rider of Back Off Mate trained by A.L.T.Moore, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stumbled, hung left and was on and off the bridle throughout.

258G John J.Galvin M'dn H'dle

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Jimaida, trained by Anthony Moloney, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.

258H John Francis H'cap H'dle

B.J. Cooper, rider of Hesbeengoodtome trained by Thomas Cooper, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was almost brought down when the horse in front of him fell.

The Stewards interviewed I.J. McCarthy, rider of Vintage Supreme, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3.(e),in that he had used his whip other that down the shoulder or the hind quarters and having considered his excellent record, the Stewards cautioned him.
