The Stewards interviewed D.P. McDonogh, rider of Tarana, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g) and 10(4), in that he used the whip with his arm above shoulder height and without giving his mount time to respond and having considered his record, cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard. Mr. Stephen McDonogh, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

256D Seamus Mulvaney H'cap

The Stewards interviewed S. Foley, rider of Shadagann, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he used the whip with excessive frequency and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day.

J.P. O'Brien, rider of Raydari (FR), trained by Rodger Sweeney, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled.

256E Guinness Kerry National H'cap S'chase

The Stewards interviewed D.J. Casey, rider of Pass The Hat (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.(4), in that he used the whip without giving his mount time to respond and having considered his record, cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.

J.A.Berry, trainer of Cootamundra, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge scoped badly post race.

T.J. Taaffe, trainer of Heaney, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Wednesday 8th October that his charge was found to be suffering from an abnormal head tilt post race and has received on-going treatment.

256H McElligotts Tralee Ltd. INH Flat Race

Ms K. Walsh, rider of Thomas Ledger, trained by H.Rogers, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her mount hung in the latter stages of the race.
