The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

K.J. Leonard rode Pirate's Treasure (GB) (reserve) , trained by Charles Coakley (Race 2)
S. Foley rode Centrifolia (GB) (reserve) , trained by Joseph G. Murphy (Race 3)

258A Irish Stallion Farms EBF Med. Auc. M'dn

S. Foley, rider of Refulgence Star trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran green when he hit the front.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Arcturus, ridden by S.M. Crosse, placed first, Refulgence Star, ridden by S. Foley, placed third and Zeb Spirit, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed fifth, where it appeared that Zeb Spirit got tight for room when racing between Arcturus and Refulgence Star. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Eugene O'Sullivan accompanied S.M. Crosse at this enquiry. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.

258B Byrne Family H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from J.A.Stack, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Shifted Strategy, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Roscommon on the 20th August. J.A. Stack reported that his charge was fitted with blinkers at Roscommon but appeared to resent them. Cheek pieces were applied today which in his opinion brought about the desired effect. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

258C MAC Fuels &General Supplies(Fillies) Mdn

S.P. Davis, rider of Duquesa Beach trained by Lee Smyth, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped when his mount was leaving the starting stalls.

The Stewards enquired into an incident at the winning post involving Bright Eyed, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed second and Duquesa Beach, ridden by S.P. Davis, placed third, where it appeared that Duquesa Beach checked at the winning post. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.

258D Behans Horseshoe Bar & Restaurant H'cap

The Stewards interviewed R.P. Cleary, rider of Mystique Heights (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that R.P. Cleary was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned R.P. Cleary.

258F Ladbrokes Ireland Listowel H'cap H'dle

The Stewards enquired into an incident rounding the final bend involving Davids Charm, ridden by A. McCurtin, placed sixth and Boot Camp, ridden by D.N. Russell, unplaced, where it appeared that Boot Camp ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that A. McCurtin was in breach of Rule 214 in that he caused the incident by riding carelessly. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended A. McCurtin for 1 raceday.

The Stewards interviewed S.A. Mulcahy, rider of The Granson, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that S.A. Mulcahy was in breach of R10(3)(b) by hitting his mount unnecessarily after its chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone and R10(3)(g) by using his whip with his arm above shoulder height. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended S.A. Mulcahy for 3 racedays.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Ms. Avena O'Keeffe, that D.F. O'Regan, rider of Lakemilan, had weighed in at 1.1lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was not made aware by the Clerk of the Scales that he was showing any overweight when weighing in and was informed at a later stage when in the Jockeys changing room. He added that he had mistakenly left the breast girth on his saddle when weighing in but would have removed it if any overweight was brought to his attention and in doing so would have drawn the correct weight. Ms O'Keeffe confirmed that she had not informed the rider of any overweight at the time of weighing in. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards gave D.F. O'Regan the benefit of the doubt and took no further action.

258G Devon Inn Hotel H'cap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Easy Gold, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

258H Kevin McManus Beginners S'chase

The Stewards fined Patrick Neville, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Roccorovermann, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Roccorovermann in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (iv).

A. McCurtin, rider of Ceide Fields (GB) trained by S.J.Mahon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having burst a blood vessel.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Ceide Fields (GB) trained by S.J.Mahon was found to have blood at his nostrils post race.

A.E. Lynch, rider of Pallaskenry trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hated the ground.
