The Stewards enquired into an incident about two furlongs from the finish involving All Dolled Up, ridden by D.P. Linehan, unplaced and Annella, ridden by D.M. Melia, unplaced, where it appeared that All Dolled Up ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by D.M. Melia riding carelessly and therefore cautioned him having taken his previous good record into consideration. Furthermore the Stewards also cautioned D.M. Melia for a breach of Rule 213 following his failure to report at first instance that his mount had hung after one furlong, this matter being offered as part of his evidence at this enquiry.

D.P. Linehan, rider of All Dolled Up trained by James G.Sheehan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran short of room two furlongs out and was checked.

D.M. Melia, rider of Annella, trained by Peter Maher, reported at a Stewards' enquiry that his mount continuously hung after running one furlong of this race.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Western Abbey, at the request of trainer, Brian M. McMahon, and reported the animal to be lame on his near foreleg. This horse had been withdrawn at the start on Veterinary advice.

The Stewards considered a request from W. McCreery, trainer of Chieftain Jack, to substitute nominated rider C. Comerford with D.E. Sheehy as he was unable to do the correct weight. The trainer stated that prior to the deadline for nominating a rider yesterday morning he was informed by C. Comerford, his registered Apprentice, that he would ride at the correct weight. He was informed by the rider this morning that he was in difficulty with his weight. C. Comerford accepted that he had given W. McCreery an assurance yesterday morning that he would do the correct weight on the assumption that he would lose some weight before weighing out today. He added that he had not felt too well and experienced difficulty in losing any weight despite his best efforts. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards severely cautioned C. Comerford concerning his responsibility to weigh out at the correct weight. Furthermore the Stewards ordered C. Comerford to attend the Turf Club Medical Offical for a reassessment of his minimum riding weight. The Stewards allowed D.E. Sheehy to deputise for C. Comerford on Chieftain Jack.

282G1 Ladbrokes Munster National Tomorrow Hcap

The Stewards interviewed D.E. Hogan, rider of Ask Katie, concerning his use of the whip in the last two furlongs of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D.E. Hogan was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and also R10(4) by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip and consequently suspended him for 3 racedays having taken his previous record into consideration.

The Stewards requested a report from John Joseph Murphy, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Grande Waltz (GER), placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his yard was under a cloud at the time that this animal last ran and since then he stopped running horses until recently. He felt that this animal had strengthened up for the break and also handled today's ground conditions. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
