The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

R.P. Treacy replaced Mr R.D. Conran on Saslong (GB), trained by T.J. O'Mara (Race 2)(Stewards permission) (See enquiry)

A. Ring replaced J.P. Kerse on Sharekan, trained by Barry T. Murphy (Race 6)(Stewards permission) (See enquiry)
Mr J.J. Codd replaced Mr M.J. O'Connor on Shrewdoperator, trained by P.J. Rothwell (Race 7)(Injured)
R.A. Doyle replaced D.J. Benson on Mini Vic, trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle (Race 6)(Injured)

348B Racing Home For Christmas H'cap H'dle

The Stewards received a request from John Ryan, Authorised representative for T.J. O'Mara, trainer, to substitute the nominated rider Mr R.D. Conran with R.P. Treacy on their charge Saslong (GB) as he was 3lbs overweight. John Ryan stated that the rider had confirmed his availability to ride with no weight difficulty. Mr R.D. Conran accepted that he had not disclosed any weight difficulty when confirming availability and added that he was delayed en route to the races today and consequently was unable to use the sauna on arrival. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr R.D. Conran was in breach of Rule 198 and therefore suspended him for 1 raceday and further fined him €150. The Stewards allowed John Ryan's request for the change of rider.

R.P. McNamara, rider of Hesbeengoodtome trained by Thomas Cooper, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel.

The Stewards received a request from Barry T. Murphy, trainer, to substitute his nominated rider J.P. Kerse with A. Ring on his charge Sharekan as he was 4lbs overweight. Barry T. Murphy stated that he had confirmed the riders availability and was not made aware of any difficulty riding at the required weight. J.P. Kerse stated that he had not disclosed any weight difficulty as he believed from his own weighing scales that he had 1lb to lose prior to weighing out but has now realised that his own scales was incorrect. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that J.P. Kerse was in breach of Rule 198 and therefore suspended him for 1 raceday and further fined him €150. The Stewards allowed Barry T. Murphy's request for a change of rider.

A.P. Crowe, rider of Trust No One, trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount burst a blood vessel after the third last hurdle and was pulled up.
