344B Goggin Buckley H'cap H'dle

The Stewards interviewed Mr S.R. Byrne, rider of Jim Will Fix It, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.4, in that he had failed to give his mount sufficient time to respond and having considered his record cautioned him .

344C Tim Duggan Memorial H'cap S'chase

The Stewards interviewed Mr A. McCurtin, rider of Page Turner, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10. 3 (f), in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and having considered his record, cautioned him in this regard for the future.

344D Roches Feeds M'dn H'dle

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Rathpatrick, ridden by S.G. McDermott, and trained by Eoin Griffin. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. S.G. McDermott, stated that his instructions were to settle his mount in around sixth position, to race wide on what he felt was slightly better ground and to do the best he could. He stated that his mount jumped green throughout, ran very one-paced and had only finished fourth because the horses in front had tired quickly in the closing stages. Eoin Griffin confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride but overall was disappointed with the run. He outlined the difficulties in training his charge and felt his charge needs to mature in order to be more competitive. The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that Rathpatrick was found to be post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered and took no further action.

B.T. O'Connell, rider of Monasteradenpauric, trained by John J. Walsh, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was out paced early on and stayed on past tired hores in the closing stages.

344E Limerick Racecourse Vets H'cap H'dle

The Stewards received a complaint from B.T.O'Connell, rider of Hard Bought, concerning the start of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and from Mr D. Cullen, Turf Club Starter. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that a fair start had been affected and took no further action.

The Stewards received a complaint from Mr D. Cullen, Turf Club Starter, regarding the conduct of B.T. O'Connell, rider, towards him in the weigh room after this race. Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 272 and fined him €500.
