The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

C.P.Hoban rode Rosenborg Rider (reserve) , trained by Adrian McGuinness (Race 4)
B.M. Coen rode Tynamite (reserve) , trained by P.F.McEnery (Race 4)

216A Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

The Stewards fined Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Jewel Love, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of horse name in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (iv).

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Inverleigh, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed first, Mofakker, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed fourth (Deadheat)and Woody Creek (GB), ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed fourth (Deadheat), where it appeared Woody Creek met with interference causing her to clip a heel and stumble. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference was accidental in nature, they therefore made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Woody Creek (GB) trained by J.A.Stack, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount met with interference.

216B Fitzers Catering H'cap

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Betsey Trotter, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed first and T For Tango, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.

216D SMOKIE H'cap

Under the provisions of Rule 90 (iii), the Stewards allowed Tiny Tempest, trained by Gavin Cromwell, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the horse was correctly vaccinated in accordance with Rule 91.

Under the provisions of Rule 90 (iii), the Stewards allowed Zalzar, trained by G.M.Lyons, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the horse was correctly vaccinated in accordance with Rule 91.

216E Grant Thornton Rated Race

The Stewards enquired into the reason offered for the withdrawal of Mayaadeen, trained by D. K. Weld from this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned and from Mr. L. Wyer, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Course. Mr. Weld stated that his charge was present and had intended running, but having walked the track he felt there was a patch of firm ground after the winning post and felt the animal would be unsuited by this having suffered leg trouble in the past. Mr. Wyer described the going conditions in detail and was satisfied that the track was safe for all runners. Having considered the evidence and taken into account that the trainer had walked the track, that Mayaadeen was present on the racecourse and the animals previous leg trouble, the Stewards allowed the withdrawal and took no further action.

Under the provisions of Rule 90 (iii), the Stewards allowed Geological, trained by Damian Joseph English, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the horse was correctly vaccinated in accordance with Rule 91.

216G Manguard Plus H'cap

Under the provisions of Rule 90 (iii), the Stewards allowed Hurricane Sky, trained by Charles O'Brien, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the horse was correctly vaccinated in accordance with Rule 91.

Under the provisions of Rule 90 (iii), the Stewards allowed Landsman, trained by A.J.Martin, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the horse was correctly vaccinated in accordance with Rule 91.

The Stewards interviewed T.P. Madden, rider of Hurricane Sky, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and Regulation 10.3(g) in that he had used his whip with the arm above shoulder height. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended T.P. Madden for 2 racedays, 1 day in respect of each offence.
