041C Leopardstown May Family Day H'cap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Commandant, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have lost a right hind shoe but was otherwise post race normal.

The Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Serious Ego (GER), placed first, as compared with its recent form. Aidan O'Ryan, Authorised representative for Gordon Elliot reported that Serious Ego had been disappointing in the past but today he raced on Soft ground for the first time in his racing career and this is the only reason that he can forward for the improved performance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

041D TRI Equestrian H'cap H'dle

The Stewards enquired into an incident after the last hurdle involving Lady Writer, ridden by D.G. Hogan, placed first and Cappuccino Man, ridden by B. Browne, placed fifth, where it appeared that Lady Writer had tightened Cappuccino Man when drifting towards the running rail. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by D.G. Hogan riding carelessly, this being a breach of Rule 214. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended D.G. Hogan for 1 raceday.
