The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

D.M. Melia rode Danse Rouge, trained by Patrick J.Flynn (Race 6) (Stewards Permission - see enquiry).
K.J. Leonard rode Queen Alpha, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan (Race 6)(Stewards Permission - see enquiry).

212A Racecourse Of The Year H'cap

The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Victorious Secret, ridden by K.J. Leonard, winner, Blairmayne, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed fourth, and Hasselnott (GB), ridden by C. O'Donoghue, placed fifth, where it appeared Blairmayne suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned and from James Stack, authorised representative of T.Stack, trainer of Victorious Secret.
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judges' placings and giving the benefit of the doubt to C. O'Donoghue, deemed the interference to be accidental and took no further action.

212B Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Taj Mahal, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed third and Captain Hardship (USA), ridden by S.B. Kelly, placed fourth, where it appeared Taj Mahal suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards gave the benefit of the doubt to S.B. Kelly and took no further action.

The Stewards enquired into an incident at the end of the back straight involving Captain Hardship (USA), ridden by S.B. Kelly, Lancaster Bomber (USA), ridden by D. O'Brien, Miss Qatar, ridden by K.J. Manning, and Switch In Time, ridden by P.J. Smullen, where it appeared Miss Qatar suffered interference, resulting in Captain Hardship and Switch In Time having to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion D. O'Brien was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday.

212C Bulmers Live At Leopardstown M'dn

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Benny Paret, trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be coughing post race.

212D Strypes Apprentice H'cap

The Stewards interviewed Patrick J.Flynn, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Danse Rouge. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that despite his best efforts he could not secure any apprentice that could ride at the minimum weight before declarations closed and wished to nominate D.M. Melia now as he had become available due to his original mount having been declared a non runner.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered and allowed the nomination of D.M. Melia.

The Stewards interviewed Wesley Hayes, authorised representative of Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Queen Alpha. Evidence was heard from the authorised representative concerned who stated that despite the trainers best efforts he could not secure any apprentice that could ride at the minimum weight before declarations closed and wished to nominate K.J. Leonard now as he had become available due to his original mount having been declared a non runner.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered and allowed the nomination of K.J. Leonard.

212F Ballyroan Stakes

The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Almela, ridden by P.J. Smullen, and Shogun, ridden by D. O'Brien, where it appeared Almela suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion the interference was accidental, and took no further action other than to advise D. O'Brien to be more aware of what's happening around him while racing in the future.
