The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of He's Ok, ridden by D.P. Maxwell, and trained by Matthew J. Smith. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. D.P. Maxwell, stated that he was instructed to ride the horse to his best ability mindful that he may need the run having been off the racecourse with leg trouble for the last twenty one months. He described his ride from the start as having got his mount into a rhythm and held a position that he was satisfied with. He added that his mount jumped great but he had kept a hold of him as he had expected him the blow up. He referenced that he had applied the whip twice in the closing stages of this race for which he kept on one paced. He concluded by stating that his mount had run better than expected and had finished sound. He confirmed to the Stewards that he had ridden to the trainer's instructions. Matthew J. Smith, stated that his charge was making his debut under his care having been acquired about three month's ago from his owner who had got him to a level of fitness at his premises. He felt that today the animal had presented as fit as possible and ready to run. His version of instructions to the rider included to get the horse settled early on as he can be free, creep into the race, run as well as possible but do not abuse the horse should he get tired. In his opinion he thought that the rider should have allowed his mount to go on in the latter stages of this race. The trainer also informed the Stewards that he had been advised before the race that this animal had overheated in the past. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that He's OK was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.P. Maxwell was in breach of Rule 212(A)(ii) by riding in such a way that he was not seen to have made a genuine attempt to obtain from his horse timely, real and substantial efforts to achieve his best possible placing. Having taken his previous clean record into consideration, the Stewards suspended D.P. Maxwell for 10 racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee. The Stewards noted the trainer's explanation.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined El Barra (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have blood on the nostril as a result of exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

McGarvey, placed fourth and One Cool Poet, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed fifth, where it appeared that Guiri (GER) had caused interference when manoeuvering to the right . Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.

Flanagan, placed fourth and Felix Desjy (FR), ridden by J.W. Kennedy, placed third, where it appeared that Embittered ran short of room when racing close to the running rail. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings. They did, however, find that the interference was caused by J.M. Moore riding carelessly this being a breach of Rule 214. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended J.M. Moore for 4 racedays. Mr. Roderick Ryan, Acting Steward, absented himself for the resumed portion of this enquiry.
