Protecting the Integrity & Reputation of Irish Horseracing

Leopardstown 13th May 2018

The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

A.P.O'Brien, trainer of Magical (Ground Conditions) - €600
A.P.O'Brien, trainer of Magical (Late Withdrawal) - €200

109A Leopardstown Summer Pass M'dn

The Stewards requested a report from G.M.Lyons, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Bucky Larson, placed first, as compared with its recent form. G.M. Lyons stated that his charge ran well on his first run having been dropped in. On his last run, there was no pace and he had to make all the running. On this occasion, G.M. Lyons reverted to tactics used on his first run, and this suited his charge better today. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Brendan Brackan, trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
