104A Johnnie Fox's EBF Auction M'dn

S. Foley, rider of Jack Naylor (GB), trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got upset in the stalls, missed the break, never travelled early but stayed on well in the straight.

K.J. Manning, rider of Intenser, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost his action shortly after the start and commenced to fly-leap before pulling up.

104B Ard Glen Amethyst Stakes

K.J. Manning, rider of Leitir Mor, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount raced reluctantly on leaving the stalls.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving Penitent (GB), ridden by D. Tudhope, unplaced, One Spirit, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed third, Pearl Of Africa, ridden by F. Lynch, placed fifth and Pop Art, ridden by F.M. Berry, placed fourth, where it appeared that Pearl Of Africia ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judge's placings and took no further action.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Leitir Mor, trained by J. S. Bolger, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

John M. Oxx, trainer of Qewy, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Monday 12th May that his charge was found to be lame this morning.

104C Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Stars So Bright, trained by John M. Oxx, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Stars So Bright, trained by John M. Oxx, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled on the yielding to soft ground.

John M. Oxx, trainer of Stars So Bright, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Monday 12th May that his charge was found to be stiff post race.

104D Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial Stakes

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving Geoffrey Chaucer (USA), ridden by J.P. O'Brien, placed third, Ebanoran, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed first and Fascinating Rock, ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed second. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that interference had occurred and that the winner had improved his finishing position as a result of this interference and therefore amended the judge's placings to read :

First : Fascinating Rock
Second: Ebanoran
Third : Geoffrey Chaucer

Furthermore the stewards were of the opinion that D.P.McDonogh was in breach of Rule 214, having ridden carelessly and having considered his excellent record, suspended him for three race days.
Mr. John McStay, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

104E PFH Technology Group H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the back straight involving Melvin The Grate, ridden by R. Hughes, placed fifth and Fiosrach, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed third, where it appeared that Melvin The Grate ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that K.J.Manning had ridden carelessly and having considered his excellent record, severely cautioned him as to his future responsibilities in this regard.

104G Microsoft Ireland M'dn

The Stewards requested a report from J. S. Bolger, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Sundara, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer stated that perhaps the improvement could be attributed to today's step up in trip and better ground. Having considered the report the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
