The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

David Harry Kelly, trainer of Lagostovegas (going) - €200
G.M.Lyons, trainer of When In Doubt (GB) (going) - €200
Brendan W.Duke, trainer of Focas Mor (declared in error) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

P.J.Smullen rode Dram Girl (USA) (reserve) , trained by D. K. Weld (Race 5)
W.M.Lordon rode Uno Voce (reserve) , trained by Brendan W.Duke (Race 5)

140B Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C&G) M'dn

P.J. Smullen, rider of Sunglider, trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount suffered interference four furlongs from the finish.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr.W.Fleming, that R.P. Downey, rider of Shes No Joke, placed third,weighed in six pounds underweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and also from the trainer Mark Fahey. In his evidence the trainer stated that he inadvertently left the lead back off when saddling the horse. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards disqualified Shes No Joke, in accordance with Rule 231 and fined the trainer €500, having found him in breach of Rule 148.

The Stewards requested a report from Donal Kinsella, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Maudlin Magdalen, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on her last start, when wearing blinkers for the first time. He added that he removed the equipment today and that in hindsight she may have resented them. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

140G Paddy Casey H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after the start of this race involving Selskar Abbey (USA), ridden by K.J. Manning, Best Kept Secret, ridden by Anastasia O'Brien, Social Climber, ridden by C.D. Hayes, and Dram Girl (USA), ridden by P.J.Smullen where it appeared Selskar Abbey had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned in the presence of A.P.O'Brien, trainer who accompanied Anastasia O'Brien in the Stewards room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference was accidental and took no further action.
