The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer of Inis Meain (USA) (change in going) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

C.A. Landers replaced S.F. O'Keeffe on Master Appeal, trained by John E. Kiely (Race 3)(injured).
M.P. Walsh replaced R. Walsh on Court Artist, trained by W.P. Mullins (Race 3)(injured)
Mr. D. O'Connor replaced Mr. H.D. Dunne on Steel Tornado, trained by J.R. Barry (Race 8)(see enquiry).

C.A. Landers, rider of Sticky Situation trained by Patrick Neville, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel in running.

D.J. McInerney, rider of Sideline Cut trained by E. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran very green.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sticky Situation, trained by Patrick Neville, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at the nose following exercised induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

Liam P Cusack, trainer of Must Have Another, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge struck into himself in running and was lame post race.

236B Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice H'dle

Rachael Blackmore, rider of Eamon High trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount struck into himself in running.

236D Great Southern Hotel Beginners S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ancient Sands, trained by John E. Kiely, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards interviewed J.W. Kennedy, rider of Crezic (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous whip record into account, the Stewards suspended J.W. Kennedy for 7 racedays.

236E Irish Examiner Novice S'chase

A.W. Short, rider of Mount Beckham trained by Miss Clare Louise Cannon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Mount Beckham, trained by Miss Clare Louise Cannon, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at the nose following exercised induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

236F MSL Cork Mercedes-Benz H'cap S'chase

Under the provisions of Rule 90 (iii), the Stewards allowed Product Of Love, trained by Alan Fleming, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the horse was correctly vaccinated in accordance with Rule 91.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Monbeg Chit Chat (GB), trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

P. Townend, rider of Supreme Vinnie trained by Miss Denise Marie O'Shea, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and was pulled up thereafter.

236G Sea Lodge Waterville (P-A)INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed Mr J.J. Codd, rider of Kilbarry Way, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended Mr. J.J. Codd for 2 racedays.

236H ML Lynch Civil Engineering INH Flat Race

The Stewards received a request from J.R. Barry, trainer, to substitute the nominated rider, Mr. H.D. Dunne with Mr. D. O'Connor. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that the intended rider had rode work for him at the Curragh on Monday where it was confirmed by both parties that he would ride Steel Tornado in Killarney today. He said he was talking to the rider after declaration time yesterday when Mr. Dunne informed him that he was unavailable owing to holidays. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the substitution on this occasion and referred the matter to the C.E.O of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board for further investigation.

Under the provisions of Rule 90 (iii), the Stewards allowed Rainy Night Insoho, trained by Seamus Spillane, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the horse was correctly vaccinated in accordance with Rule 91.

Mr J.J. Codd, rider of Rainy Night Insoho trained by Seamus Spillane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped quickly.
