K. J. Brouder replaced D. Meyler on Ballykea Star, trained by Francis J. Flood (Race 6)(Injured)

190A Killarney Grand Live Music (M) M'dn H'dl

The Stewards requested a report from John Gerard Lonergan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Jazz Mine, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Eoin McDonagh, Authorised representative of John Gerard Lonergan reported that this filly had consistent form in maiden hurdles but disappointed when running in handicap company at Wexford and Clonmel where on both occasions she never travelled during her races and weakened in the latter stages which was not the norm for her. Following Clonmel there were no abnormalities found but on further investigation she was found to have a problem with her stifles which was subsequently treated. She was left off for a few weeks before returning to road work and then stepping up to cantering. He concluded that she appeared to be far happier in herself today and this was shown in her improved performance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

A.E. Lynch, rider of Granny Maura trained by W.J. Burke, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped quickly and was pulled up.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Double Windsor, trained by David M.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

190G Christy Lucey Transport INH Flat Race

The Stewards received a report from Ms. Joan Taylor M.R.C.V.S, IHRB Veterinary Officer, in relation to her observations of visible evidence of recent skin disease when inspecting Sir Tivo (FR) trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy. In her opinion the animal had been treated for a skin condition over an extensive area but there were some areas still active. Ms Sabrina Barnwell and Mr. Alan Dunlop, Killarney Racecourse Veterinary Surgeons both confirmed that they had examined Sir Tivo (FR) and confirmed that areas around the right forelimb, inside the right knee and the saddle appeared to be active of a skin disease. Eoin Christopher McCarthy, trainer, presented an undated Veterinary Certificate from Louise Flynn M.R.C.V.S, Curtins Veterinary, Abbeyfeale stating that Sir Tivo (FR) had been treated for a fungal infection for the last three weeks and in her opinion the fungal infection was dead. He added that the skin disease broke out about five weeks ago and the animal was initially given an antihistamine before being subsequently treated with Imaverol. He stated that Louise Flynn M.R.C.V.S had called to his yard yesterday and was satisfied from her observations that the skin disease was dead and issued the undated certificate at that time. Having considered all the evidence presented, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Sir Tivo (FR).
