The Stewards enquired into an incident near the one furlong marker on the first circuit involving Princess Aloof, ridden by S. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by Anastasia O'Brien riding carelessly and consequently they severely cautioned her having taken her clean previous record into consideration. M. Halford, trainer of Princess Aloof and Master of Apprentice Sean Corby, accompanied him at this enquiry. John Power, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

181C Corcoran's Furniture & Carpets H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident about one furlong from the finish involving Wonder Holy, ridden by R.P. Downey, placed first, Plain Talking, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed third and Timeless Focus, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed fifth, where it appeared that Timeless Focus ran short of room and was checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that R.P. Downey had caused the incident by riding carelessly and consequently they suspended R.P. Downey for 2 racedays having taken his previous record into consideration. John Power, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

R.P. Cleary, rider of Athloman Cottage, trained by John M.Burke, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran very keenly in the earlier part of this race.

181D The Malton H'cap

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Balkinstown, trained by F. Flood, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically abnormal post race.

181E Killarney Avenue/Munster Joinery Mdn Hdl

John O'Callaghan, trainer of Presenting Opera, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge lost two shoes in running.

181F Bunkers Bar & Restaurant H'cap H'dle

The Stewards requested a report from Anthony Mullins, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Erlkonig (GER), placed first, as compared with its recent run at Bellewstown. Anthony Mullins reported that his charge took a very heavy fall at Punchestown 3rd June and ran subsequently at Bellewstown 4th July. On that occasion the animal was baulked at the first hurdle and appeared to lack confidence thereafter. He added that this animal usually races with the pace but tonight was ridden at the rear of this small field of runners as the step up in trip to two miles and six furlongs was an unknown territory for him. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
