The Stewards requested a report from Patrick Martin, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Reckless Lad, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Bellewstown on the 3rd July. Patrick Martin reported that the ease in ground conditions was a significant factor in his charges improved run compared to the good to firm ground at Bellewstown. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

178C Ir.Stallion Farms EBF Cairn Rouge Stakes

The Stewards requested a report from David Wachman, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Off Limits, placed first, as compared with its recent run in the Group 3 Guineas trial at Leopardstown on the 10th May. David Wachman reported that his filly ran disappointingly in the Guineas trial and despite post race examination at home, no abnormality was found. He decided to give her a break which allowed her to freshen up and in his opinion she was working as well as she had been before Leopardstown but today she looked very well in herself. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Stewards received a report from P.L. Malone , Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Lynda Tara Masterson , rider of Our Kieran , weighed in at 1.7 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that she had lost 6 lbs to ride at the weight and felt dehydrated after weighing out and consequently drank an amount of water. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Lynda Tara Masterson was in breach of Rule 231 and they therefore suspended her for 1 raceday. R Donohoe, trainer of Our Kieran, attended this enquiry.

The Stewards enquired into an incident about 200 yards from the finish involving Palm Sur, ridden by Mr S. Clements, placed first and Ballinderry Moth, ridden by Mr R.P. Quinlan, placed second, where it appeared that Palm Sur met with interference when passing a hurdle wing which joined the running rail . Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by Mr R.P. Quinlan riding carelessly and consequently suspended him for 4 racedays having taken his good previous record into consideration.

The Stewards enquired into an incident about one furlong from the finish involving Little Mitch, ridden by Mr P.A. King and Rosshaven Lady, ridden by Miss S. O'Brien, where it appeared that Rosshaven Lady veered inwards when racing on a non railed part of the course and collided with a spur before falling and bringing down Little Mitch. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards considered the incident to be accidental in nature and did not apportion any blame in the circumstances. A.P. O'Brien, trainer of Rosshaven Lady, attended this enquiry.
