The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

G.P. Halpin replaced Anastasia O'Brien on Punches Pious, trained by Timothy Doyle (Race 3)(Stewards' permission)

163A Irish Stal Farms EBF Median Auction Mdn

R.P. Whelan, rider of Magnetic North trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost its action.

The Stewards enquired into an incident at the start of this race involving Spirit Power (GB), ridden by D. O'Brien, unplaced, Bye Bye Brussels, ridden by C. O'Donoghue, unplaced and Fiannaiocht, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed sixth, where it appeared interference may have occured. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D. O' Brien was in breach of rule 214 in that he rode carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended D. O'Brien for two racedays.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Bye Bye Brussels, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

163C Thomastown H'cap

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Mountain Fox, ridden by D.E. Hogan, placed second, Nivvo, ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed fifth and Mystery Gal, ridden by C. O'Donoghue, placed third. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference was accidental in nature and made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.

163D Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auc Race

C.D. Hayes, rider of Gustavus Vassa (GB) trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount checked off heels one furlong out.

163E Gowran Park H'cap

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Nicaragua (GB), trained by C. O'Keeffe, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

M. Halford, trainer of Miss Snossyboots, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Wednesday 5th July that his charge was found to be in season post race.
