The following trainer was fined €200 for the non-notification of a Veterinary Certificate in accordance with the provision of Rule 194(v) (vi):

273A Paulstown M'dn H'dle

The Stewards informed Patrick Downey, trainer of Melly And Me, that his charge could be liable for suspension if he repeated any unruly behaviour in the future.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Storm Rising, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal, and added that samples had been taken for analysis.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Storm Rising, trained and ridden by D. G. Hogan. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. D.G. Hogan stated that his charge was returning from a bad fall in his previous race and had schooled badly in the last week. D.G. Hogan's plan for this race was to jump off in a good position. He stated that his mount had jumped off in the perfect position and that he made his challenge about four hurdles out. D.G. Hogan stated that he was more than happy with the performance of his charge, he got the run of the race and that in his opinion he could not have pushed him any closer. The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that Storm Rising was post race normal and that samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted D.G Hogan's explanation, however he was cautioned regarding his attitude in the Stewards room.

273B Racing Again Tomorrow M'dn H'dle

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Iolani (GER), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

273D Pat Walsh Memorial Irish EBF (M) H'dle

D.N. Russell, rider of Tellthemnuttin trained by W.F. Codd, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount didn't handle the ground.

273F Buy Tickets Online H'cap H'dle

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Ash Rowe, ridden by J.J. Slevin, placed second and Ballymadun (GB), ridden by C.D. Maxwell, placed first, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings, however found C.D. Maxwell in breach of rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended C.D. Maxwell for 1 raceday.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Pinotage (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be have sustained a wound to his left fore fetlock and had pulled his left fore shoe.

D.N. Russell, rider of Pinotage (GB) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount struck into himself, lost his action thereafter and was pulled up.

The Stewards requested a report from Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Ballymadun (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent form. D.A. McLoughlin stated that Ballymadun is a big weak horse that was given a good break over the summer and has come back stronger. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the contents of the report.

273G ISF EBF Mucklemeg (Mares) INH Flat Race

Ms Margaret Mullins, trainer of Thegreatestreward, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Tuesday 3rd October that her charge was found to have a pulled muscle post race.
