The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

Eoin Doyle, trainer of Star Of Oscar (off feed) - €200
Gordon Elliott, trainer of Dortmund Park (FR) (declared in error) - €200

015A Langton House Hotel H'cap H'dle

C.D. Maxwell, rider of Do No Complain (FR) trained by Ian O'Connor, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled.

The Stewards requested a report from Robert Tyner, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Spare Brakes, placed first, as compared with its most recent form. Mary Tyner, Authorised Representative for the trainer, reported that Spare Brakes had disappointed on his previous run following a long absence off the track. She added that her charge appeared to come on from that run in what she felt was a lesser race and felt a combination of both, had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

015B RED MILLS EBF Auction M'dn H'dle

At the request of the Stewards, N. Bashford, rider of On Call, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount momentarily ran close to the rail causing him to check.

D.N. Russell, rider of Rakhine State trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got very tired.

B.J. Cooper, rider of Amerijano trained by Paul Nolan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a bad mistake and was pulled up thereafter.

015C John Mulhern Galmoy H'dle

D.E. Mullins, rider of Shaneshill trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount felt lame and was pulled up thereafter.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Shaneshill, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.

015D Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap H'dle

T. Ryan, rider of Hows Patsy trained by Stephen Ryan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

Stephen Ryan, trainer of Hows Patsy, reported to the Office of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board that his charge scoped dirty post race.

015E Goffs Thyestes H'cap S'chase

The Stewards interviewed Mr. P.W. Mullins, rider of Mall Dini, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race, following a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and also from Patrick. G. Kelly, trainer of Mall Dini. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he had used his whip with excessive force. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account and mitigating circumstances, the Stewards suspended Mr. P.W. Mullins for 1 raceday.

015F PMF Kilkenny Beginners S'chase

S.W. Flanagan, rider of Johnnys Girl trained by Norman Lee, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount felt lame and was pulled up.

015G P.J. Foley Memorial INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed T.J. Taaffe, trainer of Walking Fame, following a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Bord Veterinary Officer, that she was unable to identify the animal from the passport provided. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that the animal was bought through the sales ring and he was unable to offer an explanation for the irregularity. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Walking Fame from this race and referred the matter to a Senior Racing Official for further investigation, under the provisions of Rule 90(vi).

The Stewards interviewed Mr. J.M. Burke, rider of Thousand Tears, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended Mr. J.M. Burke for 2 racedays.
