303C Kone H'cap S'chase

The Stewards interviewed D.J. McInerney, rider of The Winkler, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended him for 2 racedays.

303D Corrib Food Products H'cap S'chase

D.F. O'Regan, rider of Aranhill Rascal trained by S.J.Mahon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was brought to a stop after the last.

K.M. Donoghue, rider of Germany John trained by S.J.Mahon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and was pulled up thereafter.

B.J. Cooper, rider of Old Time Melody trained by Thomas Cooper, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered and pulled up thereafter.

Rachael Blackmore, rider of Wilde 'N Wide trained by A.J. McNamara, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount made a bad mistake at the fourth last.

J.M. Moore, rider of Dont Stop trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount had burst a blood vessel. Subsequently Dont Stop was examined by the Turf Club Veterinary officer at the request of the Stewards, who reported that the animal was found to have blood at the nose following exercised induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

303F John Mulholland Bookmakers H'cap H'dle

P.A. Gallagher, rider of Fluspar trained by Daniel John Howard, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel. Subsequently Fluspar was examined by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer at the request of the Stewards, who reported that the animal was found to have blood at the nose following exercised induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

303G Reaneys (P-A) 4YO Fillies INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed Mr. M.J. Sweeney, rider of Darrens Diamond, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and Regulation 10. 4, in that he had failed to give his mount sufficient time to respond. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended him for 21 racedays and ordered that he attend R.A.C.E for one day's tuition on the correct use of the whip.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. H.T. Hynes, regarding the failure of Mr. M.J. Sweeney, rider of Darrens Diamond, placed sixth, to weigh in after this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards disqualified Darrens Diamond from sixth place under the provisions of Rule 230(ii). Furthermore, they found that the rider was in breach of Rule 227 and having considered his record in this regard, they cautioned him.
