The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving The Mpex Kid, ridden by M.P. Sheehy, placed second and Darkened, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, placed first, where it appeared that Darkened hung left in front of The Mpex Kid. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference was accidental in nature and did not improve the final placing of Darkened. The Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.

S. Foley, rider of Eastern Racer trained by Sean Byrne, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right.

G.P. Brouder, rider of Ducky Mallon trained by Donal Kinsella, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran short of room half way up the straight.

The Stewards requested a report from Adrian McGuinness, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Current Option, placed first, as compared with its last run. Adrian McGuinness reported that on his last run his charge was drawn wide and ran very free. Today, his charge had a favourable draw, settled well and benefitted from a drop in distance from 1 mile to 7 furlongs and also running without a hood which was worn on the last run. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

181E Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) M'dn

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Golddragon Reef, ridden by S. Foley and Secret Sea, ridden by R. Coakley, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. 181F JPK Fencing Race

The Stewards interviewed Mr Ben Delmer, Authorised Representative for W.P. Mullins, Trainer, following a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, Dr. Lynn Hillyer, to the effect that Buildmeupbuttercup (GB) was found to have had an obvious mark of blood on the offside over the jugular during routine pre race inspection. Mr Delmar reported that his charge had a blood sample taken by a veterinary practitioner in the yard prior to travelling. Dr. Hillyer confirmed that, having spoken to the Veterinary practitioner, she was satisfied with this explanation. Having considered the evidence including photographic evidence in consultation with Dr. Hillyer, the Stewards allowed Buildmeupbuttercup to run on condition that written confirmation was provided by the trainer's Vet to the effect that the horse had been blood sampled privately and that the horse will be sampled post race. The Stewards advised Mr. Delmer that it was not acceptable to present a horse in such a manner and reminded him of the trainer's future responsibilities in this regard.
