The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J.J.Burke rode Harangue (reserve) , trained by Paul John Gilligan (Race 2)
J.W.Kennedy rode Medinah Gold (reserve) , trained by Peter Fahey (Race 2)
C.P.Hoban replaced R.P. Whelan on Cotillion (GB), trained by Ian Williams (in GB) (Race 6)(unwell)
K.J.Leonard rode Hawk Flight (reserve) , trained by Miss Maura McGuinness (Race 6)

202A Martinstown Opportunity H'cap H'dle

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Seeyouallincoppers, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled on the ground.

202B Galway Shopping Centre H'cap H'dle

The Stewards interviewed L.P. Dempsey, rider of Slygufftou, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(e), in that he hit the horse other than down the shoulder or on the hind quarters and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Steel King, trained by Paul W. Flynn, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

D.N. Russell, rider of Steel King, trained by Paul W. Flynn, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled.

202E Irish Stallion Farms EBF 'Ahonoora' Hcap

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Alkasser, trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

202F JPK Fencing H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from A.J.Martin, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Whatsforuwontgobyu, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge ran free on his first few starts on the flat before having two races over hurdles. He felt that the hurdle races had revitalised his charge and helped him to relax. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
