The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Gordon Elliott, trainer of Altiepix (FR) (off feed) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J.W. Kennedy replaced B.J. Cooper on Chatham House Rule (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 1)(injured)
P.A. Gallagher rode Pops Well (reserve), trained by Paul O'Flynn (Race 3).

203A Guinness H'cap H'dle

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Chatham House Rule (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount seemed to loose interest once headed and did not travel thereafter.

203B Guinness 17:59 EBF Median Auction M'dn

The Stewards received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer, Mr. A. Tyrell, that E. McNamara, trainer of Elusive John, had failed to lodge the passport on time as required. Having considered the report, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Elusive John and fined the trainer €350 under the provisions of Rule 90(ii).

The Stewards enquired into an incident rounding the bend into the home straight involving Hailstone, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed third and Red Sabor (GB), ridden by D.P. McDonogh, unplaced, where it appeared Red Sabor (GB) ran short of room and was checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental and took no further action. Mr.S. McDonogh, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Red Sabor (GB) trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was checked turning in.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Wings Of Eagles (FR), trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly laft handed.

203C Guinness Galway Blazers H'cap S'chase

The Stewards interviewed J.B. Kane, rider of As De Pique, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3.(f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having considered his previous record in this regard, the Stewards suspended him for three race days.

G.N. Fox, rider of Kylestyle trained by F. Flood, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and was pulled up thereafter.

203F Arthur Guinness H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from M.D. O'Callaghan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Intrepid Prince, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that a combination of the first time application of a visor, along with jumping off very well and making all, had in his opinion, brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
