The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Rachel Blackmore rode Azamesse (reserve), trained by John James Feane (Race 2).
Mr H.D. Dunne rode Definite Soldier (reserve), trained by P.J. Rothwell (Race 3).
J.W. Kennedy rode Pyrus Gold Wind (reserve), trained by S.J.Mahon (Race 3).
R.P. Downey rode Honor Oak (reserve), trained by T.Hogan (Race 6).
J.W. Kennedy replaced C.R. King on Rainfall Radar (USA), trained by Joseph G. Murphy (Race 6)(Injured).
L.F. Roche replaced C.R. King on Lech Tall, trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy (Race 8)(Injured).
P.D. Kennedy replaced R.M. Power on Bright Tomorrow, trained by Mrs John Harrington (Race 3)(Injured).
S.W. Flanagan replaced D.N. Russell on First Lieutenant, trained by M.F.Morris (Race 5)(Injured).

201A Tote M'dn H'dle

D.N. Russell, rider of Silver Concorde (GB), trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his saddle slipped after the second last hurdle.

201B Tote EBF (Mares) H'cap H'dle

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the uphill run after bypassing the second last hurdle involving Crystal Pearl (GB), ridden by D.N. Russell, slipped up, Give Her Bach, ridden by P.A. Gallagher, placed third, Popboru, ridden by S.W. Flanagan, placed fourth and The Conker Club, ridden by J.M. Moore, brought down. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental in nature and took no further action.

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the uphill run away from the second last hurdle involving Crown Of Gold, ridden by B.T. O'Connell, unplaced, Mississippi River, ridden by Miss M. O'Sullivan, placed sixth, Rendezvous Peak (GB), ridden by K.M. Donoghue, placed fifth and Definite Soldier, ridden by Mr H.D. Dunne, unplaced, where it appeared that both Crown Of Gold and Rendezvous Peak (GB) ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by Mr H.D. Dunne riding carelessly and consequently suspended him for 4 racedays having taken his previous record into consideration.

B.T. O'Connell, rider of Crown Of Gold trained by J.H. Culloty, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered, losing all chance, when receiving interference after the second last hurdle.

201D Tote (Q.R.) M'dn

The Stewards fined Andrew Slattery, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Spirit Of The Rain, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Stewards requested a report from A.J.Martin, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Sweet Company, placed first, as compared with its recent form. A.J. Martin reported that he had acquired this animal from another trainer at a time when he was running very keenly. He added that today was his third run on the flat and he previously ran over nine furlongs at Ballinrobe on the 18th July where he settled well. Today he ran over twelve furlongs and settled well from flagfall. He felt that by settling well it contributed to his success. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

201E TheTote.com Galway Plate

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Road To Riches, trained by Noel Meade, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have been struck into on his left hindleg, lost a shoe on the same leg and was slightly lame post race.

B.J. Cooper, rider of Road To Riches trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the third fence and never travelled thereafter.

The Stewards interviewed D. Meyler, rider of Lord Scoundrel, concerning his use of the whip in latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D. Meyler was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive force and frequency and consequently suspended him for 4 racedays having taken his previous record into consideration.

M.F.Morris, trainer of First Lieutenant, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to have lost a shoe when examined post race.

P.J. Smullen, rider of So Sensible trained by Tracey Collins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount met with interference in the closing stages of this race.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Lady Fandango trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was checked near the finish.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference about 100 yards from the finish involving So Sensible, ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed fourth and Millefiori, ridden by S. Foley, placed first, where it appeared that So Sensible ran short of room and momentarily checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the interference was accidental in nature and took no further action.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference about 50 yards from the finish involving Millefiori, ridden by S. Foley, placed first, Cairdiuil, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed second and Lady Fandango, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed third, where it appeared that Millefiori drifted and caused interference to Lady Fandango and Cairdiuil. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges' placings. They did, however, consider that S. Foley had caused the interference by riding carelessly and consequently suspended him for 2 racedays having taken his previous record into consideration.

201G Tote H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Creme De La (USA), ridden by L.F. Roche, placed second, Niven, ridden by S. Foley, placed sixth and Prove The Point, ridden by A.J. Breslin, placed fifth, where it appeared that Prove The Point ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental in nature and took no further action.

A.J. Breslin, rider of Prove The Point trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran short of room about one furlong from the finish.
