The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Mr.D.Kiely replaced on On His Toes, trained by J.R. Barry (Race 7)(see report)

286A Mervue M'dn H'dle

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Presenting Percy (GB), trained by Patrick G.Kelly, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

286B Galway City & Salthill Rated Novice Hdle

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Mr Antolini, trained by Garrett James Power, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

286D Ryans Cleaning S'chase

The Stewards interviewed D.J. Mullins, rider of Marinero, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.4, in that he used the whip without giving his mount time to respond and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day.

286F Guinness H'cap S'chase

The Stewards interviewed D.G. Hogan, rider of Eiri Na Casca, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f) and 10.4, in that he used the whip with excessive frequency and without giving his mount time to respond and having considered his record, suspended him for three race days.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Air Command, trained by J.H. Culloty, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race(samples taken for analysis).

286G Jamie Kyne Memorial INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed J.R. Barry, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for On His Toes. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the trainer was in breach of Rule 195(i) and having considered his clean record, cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.

The Stewards fined Paul O'Flynn, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of See The Light, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Stewards fined Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Tommy Welsh, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
