The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

A.P. Heskin replaced S.A. Shortall on Stowaway Shark, trained by John Joseph Hanlon (Race 3)(Intended mount was a non runner)

063B Normans Grove S'chase

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Twinlight (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Anthony Curran, trainer of Flemenstar, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Monday 4th April that his charge was found to have a respiratory infection post race.

063C INH Stallion Owners EBF Nov. H'cap H'dle

B.J. Cooper, rider of Burgas (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having gone lame in running.

R. Walsh, rider of Robin Thyme trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran flat and was pulled up.

J.J. Burke, rider of Dont Tell No One trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled during this race and became detached from the other runners.

D.N. Russell, rider of Space Cadet trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount clipped heels before the turn into the straight.

The Stewards enquired into an incident before the turn into the straight involving Burgas (FR), ridden by B.J. Cooper, pulled up, Coney Island, ridden by B.J. Geraghty, placed first and Space Cadet, ridden by D.N. Russell, placed fourth, where it appeared that Space Cadet stumbled in running. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards considered the incident to be accidental in nature and took no further action.

063F Uni-Flu Joseph R. O'Reilly Hunters S'ch

The Stewards received a report from P.W. Murtagh , Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr R. Kavanagh , rider of Dantes King , weighed out at 3 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had misread his scales at home but either way he was riding at his minimum weight. He added that this animal was a family owned horse that he had previously ridden to success. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr R. Kavanagh was in breach of Rule 198 and they therefore fined him €150. Furthermore the Stewards allowed him to ride Dantes King.

The Stewards interviewed Mr S. Cavanagh, rider of Faith Keeper, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr S. Cavanagh was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency, R10(3)(g) by using his whip with his arm above shoulder height and R10(4) by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip. The Stewards consequently suspended Mr S. Cavanagh for 2 racedays having taken his good previous record into consideration and furthermore ordered that he attend R.A.C.E for 1 days tuition on the correct use of the whip.

063G 42.ie INH Flat Race

Ms N. Carberry, rider of Laverteen (FR) trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount stopped quickly in the straight.
