The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

Eugene M. O'Sullivan, trainer of Drawn N Drank (Off feed) - €200
Gavin Cromwell, trainer of Elusive Ivy (Change in going) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

374A Mongey Communications Beg. S'chase

The Stewards requested a report from William Durkan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Screaming Colours, placed first, as compared with its recent run. Michael Fitzsimons, Authorised representative of William Durkan reported that this animal had won a Point to Point before making his racecourse appearance at Fairyhouse on the 27th January where he jumped very novicey after a mistake at the first fence and was off the bridle passing the stands in that 2 mile 5 furlong race. He added that a tongue strap was applied the last day as the animal had been known to gurgle but today it was left off. In his opinion the shorter distance of 2 miles and his very good jumping kept him in a good position and he appeared to just stay on past horses that had raced prominently throughout. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

374C INH Stallion Owners EBF Nov. H'cap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Monkshood, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at his nostrils probably as a result of his fall during this race.

374D Rybo H'cap H'dle

The Stewards requested a report from W.P. Mullins, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Low Sun (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent run. W.P. Mullins reported that as this animal was not the most genuine, he instructed the rider to make the running or be very close to the pace. He stressed to the rider that she was to keep persevering and not to give up which in his opinion contributed to the winning of the race when getting a clear run along the rails and running on strongly under a very good ride. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

374E Ratoath Pharmacy Ladies Nat. H'cap S'ch

Miss M. O'Sullivan, rider of Los Amigos trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount was pulled up having never travelled at any stage of this race.

Peter Maher, trainer of Mtada Supreme, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge did not handle the ground

374F John & Chich Fowler Mem. EBF (M) S'chse

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Dinaria Des Obeaux (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

D.N. Russell, rider of Dinaria Des Obeaux (FR) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped very carefully throughout.

374G Meath GAA Joseph R.O'Reilly Hunters S'ch

Owing to the low elevation of the sun, the Stewards granted permission for fence #5 to be omitted from this race

The Stewards interviewed Thomas Dreaper, Authorised representative of J.T.R.Dreaper, trainer of Sizing Coal and Venitien De Mai (FR) regarding the late arrival of the both horses into the Parade Ring. Evidence was heard from the trainer's representative who stated that he had collected both saddles in good time but encountered difficulties when tacking up Venitien De Mai (FR). The delay was lenghtened when the surcingle was found to be too small and had to be changed. He apologised for any inconvenience caused. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that J.T.R. Dreaper was in breach of Rule 32 (ii) by failing to have his horses in the parade ring in a reasonable time before the signal to mount was given. They fined J.T.R. Dreaper €200, through his representative, having taken his good previous record into consideration. Mr Michael Hillman, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry and Mr. Laurence McFerran acted as Chairman.
