Brassil, rider of Come Back Grainne, had weighed out at 2lbs overweight and this fact had not been flagged under Rule 195(i). Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was returning to race riding today following a five week absence due to injury. He added that todays weight was well within his capability but he had shed an amount of weight both last evening and this morning in the expectancy that he would carry the correct weight. S.J. Mahon, trainer of Come Back Grainne, stated that he was only made aware of the overweight minutes prior to the rider weighing out but would be satisfied to allow him to ride as he was familiar with his horses.
