285A Return Of The Jumps (Mares) Beg S'chase

The Stewards interviewed J.S. McGarvey, rider of She's Made It, trained by Padraig Roche, concerning his riding close to the finish where he eased his mount, was passed within strides of the finish and forfeited sixth place to Tropical Stream. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he knew on jumping the final fence that he was holding sixth place from Dynamic Allen (Fr) and eased close to the finish unaware that Tropical Stream was running on well from the last fence. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that J.S. McGarvey was in breach of Rule 212 (A)(iv) by failing to obtain his beat possible placing as a result of easing his mount without good reason. The Stewards suspended J.S. McGarvey for 2 racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee having taken his previous record into consideration

285C Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap S'chase

T. Ryan, rider of Avec Espoir (GB) trained by V. T. O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped high in the early stages of this race.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Vodka Society, ridden by G.B. Noonan, and trained by David Peter Dunne. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. G.B. Noonan, rider, stated that had no previous association with this horse and was instructed to jump off at the rear of the field as his mount is claustrophobic and to do his best. He described his ride from flag fall where his mount had jumped slowly over the first fence but settled well in a strong even gallop until getting onto the heels of the back markers going to the third last fence. He added that he was squeezing and pushing at this point and then applied the whip but his mount had only plugged on past tired horses in the closing stages. David Peter Dunne, trainer, confirmed the instructions but emphasised that his charge was a bad traveller who panics on raceday. He described the animal as having plenty of ability and despite being twelve years of age, he thought that he could show better form if raced in the U.K with his travel arrangements well managed to help him to overcome his problem. In his opinion he felt that the rider should have ridden closer to the pace instead of being detached from the back markers. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Vodka Society was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations.

285D Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn H'dle

The Stewards interviewed G. Brouder, rider of Master Of De Style, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that G. Brouder was in breach of R10(3)(b) by using his whip unnecessarily after his chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended G. Brouder for 4 racedays.

285E Killahora Farms H'cap H'dle

The Stewards requested a report from Patrick Eugene Turley, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Mig Des Taillons (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent run at Punchestown on the 29th September. Shaun Dobbin, Authorised representative for Patrick Eugene Turley, reported that their charge was freshened up following the run at Galway on the 7th September but ran too free in the race at Punchestown before being badly impeded at the third last hurdle where he broke the running rail and lost his position. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

285F(i) Return Of The Jumps H'cap H'dle (Division One)

T. Ryan, rider of Brindabella trained by W.J.Austin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.

285F(ii) Return Of The Jumps H'cap H'dle (Division Two)

J.S. McGarvey, rider of Piranto trained by S.Wilson, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having lost her action.

285F2 Return Of The Jumps H'cap H'dle

S. Wilson, trainer of Piranto, reported to the Office of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board that his charge ha a cut and swelling to the front of her near fore knee post race.

285G The Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction Flat Race

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving It Could Be You, ridden by Mr C. Mullins, placed second and Mind Your Money (GB), ridden by Mr H.C. Swan, placed first, where it appeared that Mind Your Money (GB) drifted towards It Could Be You and interference may have taken place as a consequence. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mind Your Money (GB) had improved her position over It Could Be You by causing interference and therefore reversed the placings with the amended result now to read; First; It Could Be You, Second; Mind Your Money (GB). Furthermore the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr H.C. Swan had ridden carelessly and suspended him for 3 racedays having taken his previous record into consideration. Ms. Mary O'Connor, Acting Steward, absented herself from this enquiry

The Stewards interviewed Mr H.C. Swan, rider of Mind Your Money (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr H.C. Swan was in breach of R10(3)(a) by using his whip in front of the saddle in the forehand position, R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency and R10(3)(i) by using his whip without allowing his mount at least three strides to respond. Having taken his good previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr H.C. Swan for 4 racedays and instructed him to attend R.A.C.E for one days tuition on the correct use of the whip. Ms Mary O'Connor, Acting Steward, absented herself from this enquiry.
