The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

A.J. Farragher replaced D.P. Davis on Taras Way, trained by Peter McCreery (Race 5)(see enquiry)

313B Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay H'cap

Under the provisions of Rule 90 (iv), the Stewards allowed Red All Star, trained by Gerard Keane, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the horse was correctly vaccinated in accordance with Rule 91.

R.P. Cleary, rider of Blue Suede trained by R. K. Watson, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount refused to race.

The Stewards interviewed R.K. Watson, trainer, concerning the conduct of Blue Suede, who remained in the stalls after they had opened refusing to take part in this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned. Having considered the evidence and taken the animals previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended Blue Suede from running in races with stalls for a period of 30 days in accordance with the provisions of Rule 14(iii).

313C Dundalk Stadium Claiming Race

The Stewards requested a report from J.F. Levins, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Hasselnott (GB), placed first, as compared with its most recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on his previous run at Navan for no apparent reason. He added that his charge has good previous form on the all weather surface and felt this may have helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

313D Floodlit Friday Nights M'dn

D.E. Sheehy, rider of Zanzadee trained by Eoin Griffin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount reared in the stalls.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Paved Paradise, ridden by M.A. Gallagher, placed first and La Novia, ridden by C.P. Hoban, placed fourth. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that M.A. Gallagher was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended M.A. Gallagher for 1 raceday.

D.E. Hogan, rider of Hey Pretty trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that D.P. Davis, declared rider of Taras Way, had attempted to weigh out wearing a body protector with padding removed and had also failed to make the correct weight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, in the presence of Ger Flynn, representing J.S. Bolger, trainer and master of D.P. Davis. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.P. Davis was in breach of Rule 198(v) and having considered his record in this regard, they suspended him for 7 racedays. Furthermore, the Stewards granted a request from the trainer, to substitute the nominated rider with A.J. Farragher.

A.C. Persse, rider of Zeeyalater, trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount struck the running rail independently early in this race for no apparent reason.

313G Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk H'cap

A.J. Slattery, rider of Tooreen Legend trained by E. J. O'Grady, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right in the straight.
