The Stewards interviewed F.M. Berry, rider of Strategic Heights, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion F.M. Berry was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (g) in that he had used his whip with his arm above shoulder height and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Hat Alnasar, ridden by C.P. Hoban, winner and Maronella, ridden by D.P. Linehan, placed second, where it appeared Maronella suffered slight interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned, and from J.P. Murtagh, trainer and master of D.P. Linehan. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that while some interference did occur, they could not be satisfied that the winner had improved it's finishing position in relation to the second as a result of the interference, and so they made no alteration to the judges' placings and took no further action.

G.J. Phillips, rider of Ravenmad Sam trained by Garvan Donnelly, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount's saddle slipped on leaving the back straight.
