The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

D.M. Melia replaced J.P. Killahena on The Butche's Filly, trained by Martin Hassett (Race 2)(unwell)

290A Floodlit Friday Nights At Dundalk M'dn

I.T. Queally, rider of Ko Samet, trained by Patrick J.Flynn, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran very green throughout and ducked right in the closing stages.

290B(i) Crowne Plaza Championship App H'cap (Division One)

The Stewards interviewed L.P. Dempsey, rider of Highland Rebel, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(b), in that he continued to use the whip when his chance of winning or being placed had clearly gone and having considered his record, severely cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.

290B(ii) Crowne Plaza Championship App H'cap (Division Two)

R.P. Downey, rider of Back Farm Lady, trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount fell independently having sustained an injury.

290C Book Your Christmas Party Dundalk H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Rummaging, ridden by S. Foley, placed second, Strait Of Zanzibar (USA), ridden by W.J. Lee, unplaced, Trinity Force, ridden by C.T. Keane, unplaced, Dynamite Dixie, ridden by R.P. Cleary, unplaced and Yes I Am, ridden by C.D. Hayes, unplaced. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards advised both S.Foley and C.T.Keane to ride with more care in future.

P.D. Deegan, trainer of Yes I Am, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Thursday 26th February that his charge has had a wind operation since this run.

The Stewards enquired into an incident after the turn into the straight involving Well Done Me, ridden by C.T. Keane, unplaced and Queenlet, ridden by T.P. Madden, unplaced. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned, in the presence of Mr. N.P. Madden, trainer, who accompanied T.P.Madden in the Stewards room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental and took no further action.

The Stewards informed J.T.Gorman, trainer that Broadfield Puddle, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

290E Mercury Stakes

K.J. Manning, rider of Aerialist, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ducked left shortly after the turn into the straight.

290G Christmas Party Nights at Dundalk H'cap

The Stewards interviewed D.P. McDonogh, rider of Sharjah, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.4, in that he used the whip without giving his mount time to respond and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day.
