010E Ramada Resort, Dundalk H'cap

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving Captain Cullen, ridden by R. Coakley, placed fifth and The Mouse Doctor, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed third, where it appeared that Captain Cullen suffered interference and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that interference had occurred but were not satisfied that The Mouse Doctor had improved his finishing position in relation to Captain Cullen as a result of this interference and therefore made no alteration to the judge's placings. They were however of the opinion that K.J.Manning was in breach of Rule 214 in that he rode carelessly and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day.

R. Coakley, rider of Captain Cullen trained by Joseph Anthony Murray, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly checked in the straight.
