The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

O.J. Orr replaced L.F. Roche on Slumming Angel, trained by Edward Lynam (Race 1)(Intended mount a non runner)
D.E. Sheedy replaced D.M. Melia on Mountain Kingdom, trained by C.A.McBratney (Race 8)(Injured)

305A Floodlit Friday Nights At Dundalk M'dn

The Stewards informed Adrian Brendan Joyce, trainer that Neat 'N Nifty, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

305B Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

The Stewards fined G.M. Lyons, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Overcoming, the winner of this race, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91.

G.P. Halpin, rider of Zwack (GB) trained by Adrian Murray, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got worked up in the stalls.

P.B. Beggy, rider of Foreign Secretary (GB) trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran very green.

305C Christmas Party Nights Apprentice H'cap

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Try Again, trained by Paul W. Flynn, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Paul W. Flynn, trainer of Try Again, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was flat out throughout and may need further.

R. Coakley, rider of Bubbly Bellini trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got tight for room out of the back straight.

P.J. Smullen, rider of Cloudy Miss, trained by M.Halford, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount tired in the closing stages and hung right.

305F www.dundalkstadium.com M'dn

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Bid Adieu, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed first, Financial Conduct, ridden by S. Foley, placed fourth and Clear Skies (GB), ridden by P.B. Beggy, placed third. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.

305G(i) Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk H'cap (Division One)

The Stewards requested a report from Niall Madden, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Shake The Bucket, placed first, as compared with it's most recent run at Dundalk on Ooctober 3rd, when finishing last of 14 runners. The trainer reported that his charge had disappointed on his previous run for no apparent reason. He added that he had gave him a rest and turned him out in an attempt to freshen him up and this in his opinion, had brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

The Stewards received a report from Mr. H.T Hynes, Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that D.E. Sheehy , rider of Freedom Chimes (GB), weighed in at 1.4 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and from Sarah Lynam, trainer of Freedom Chimes (GB). Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D.E. Sheehy was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record, issued a caution.

305G(ii) Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk H'cap (Division Two)

K.J. Leonard, rider of Shamar (FR) trained by R. K. Watson, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung all down the back straight.

The Stewards interviewed A.M. Glynn, rider of Meadow Cross, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned in the presence of Meghan Donovan, representing Denis Gerard hogan, trainer and Master of the rider. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g), in that he had used his whip with the arm above shoulder height. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards cautioned him.
